I'm a Design Researcher and an Interaction Design student at The Glasgow School of Art, and if you're looking for someone who can design a product that doubles as a spaceship, I'm your guy. With a Mechanical Engineering background from NIT Jamshedpur, I've got the skills to create anything from a sleek smartphone app to a jetpack.

But my real secret weapon?

A love of puns and a quirky sense of humor that keeps my design work fresh and fun.

CONCEPT NOTE:

This intervention aims to welcome the commuters and viewers b/w the traditions and the future of Kerala. The old woman embodies here local traditions and wisdom carrying the fruits of the generous soil & protecting it in her arms. The young girl represents the future that she is going towards with a stern and serene gaze. Her school bag on one hand aims at highlighting the importance of education. The backpack is also a metaphor for the very idea of travelling, exploring new horizons and growing strong and independent. Thus, connecting with the bus station itself.

This mural stands as a symbol for women empowerment where the young girl with a backpack represents cutting ties from the patriarchy and exploring a wider world and the old woman represents mother nature where everything is coming from. Furthermore, the sea represents the constant flow of energies and connections that Kochi has had through time in the past, present & future.

In the background, the skyline of the city alludes to the ever growing IT district with its various facets, and some of the famous temples of the city. Therefore the whole composition is also a celebration of the region at large.

The golden wheels with Kundan drops sway gently from long beaded chains in the necklace set, capturing the eloquent symmetry found in mehndi designs.

Model - Priya Kumari (BTech - EEE)

Kundan drops rest like the dews on leaves of gold, the intricately detailed necklace pays tribute to the grand tradition of the bride being carried to the groom's house in a doli.

Model -Nivedita Mishra (BTech - EEE)

The golden beads connect the two swans on either side of the necklace, representing the bind between the bride and the groom, questioning the role of men in bridal jewelry.

Model - Vipin SIngh Neggi (MCA)

As the evening of celebration unfolds, long lost friends & relatives approach the bride and groom, the flower patterns on the necklaces and accessories draws from the different ways in which the bride's hair is braided.

Model - Kajal Kumari (BTech - CE)

The glorious peacock spreads its feathers and dances ecstatically in this exquisite crafted jewelry, perfectly describing the energy of the sister at the sangeet and dance melas.

Model - Manvee Anand (BTech - CE)

The bride sits surrounded by the members of her family. Preparations are in full swing, as friends and relatives shuffle in and out of her view.

This project interprets the various stories of people, brides and grooms in various days of the alliance through Tanishq's range of exquisite jewelry that encapsulate the spirit of the Indian wedding. The promotion of Tanishq's Valentine Collection by Invicta during Culfest'20, the annual Cultural festival of National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur.

We deconstructed the Indian wedding into segments like the mehndi day, the sangeet and dance mela, the wedding day and the reception. Each picture captures the essence of each segment.

CONCEPT NOTE: One of the most popular remnants of the colonial era, the Planter's Chair is synonymous with antique furniture from this period. The design of the Planter's chair is about generosity of space and comfort, achieved with swooping and simple curves. Made of solid Teak wood or Indian Rosewood, it is large, streamlined, majestic and can be still seen on Kerala's house verandas.

In this light and being significant to the place and people, we will realize a larger then life installation of this chair which will be placed on the port or at the parks of proposed locations. This Giant Planters Chair will interact and play with the environment, slip into the role of a child or a lilliput and with their own body, experience a different concept of size. In the presence of the giant chair, the viewer will feel physically diminished and will be returned to the experiences of childhood adventure and furthermore giving magic experiencing the memory of the chair from a new perspective.
